I love scuba diving so much and we are moving to the Keys next month. It just makes sense. The relaxation and exhiliration experienced simultaniously while engaged in this sport is incomparable. I would really like to teach others to scuba dive while becoming more aware of marine life beyond the dinner table and watch their joy and excitement grow as they discover the incredible underwater world.

Originally born in Miami, grew up on Sanibel, and somehow landed in Alabama? WTF? Been vacationing 2x a year for the past 10 years in the keys and Key West in particular is calling our name. There really is a pull… Ready to give up the stress and corporate ladder mentality and finally make the move. So we have set a date for the 2nd week of June and have a plan in place. Selling our cars (gonna get scooters) and have a minivan for evacuation and dive purposes, have the house for sale, sold my business, and will be looking for a place to rent for at least the 1st year. We have 4 cats and although willing to give up most everything else the cats stay. Not giving on that. Can’t live without even one of them. Worried how they will adjust since they are all used to choosing inside or out at their will. Other than that the nervousness is outweighed by excitement. Really just want to go today but have to be patient, get rid of stuff and get prepared in case we don’t find jobs immediately or have underestimated the cost of living.
Wish we could find an inside track to good housing. Doesn’t have to be big, just clean and in good repair. I think we are going to book a resort or short term rental for a month, put our stuff in storage, so we can look for good housing and not choose it sight unseen. There are so many unknowns. Occupational liscense? What is this? I know housing is EXPENSIVE but other than that what else make the cost of living so much? Good family physician? Good Vet? Good dentist? Where do you go for driver liscense? Renter’s insurance? Cell phone service? Gotta start getting answers for these and more…..gonna miss my lil bro…its ok, he can visit and e-mail, and phone….;-)

UPDATE!!!

Have an apartment rented and moving May 15th! Everything is falling into place, albeit not very easily but I guess anything is possible if you want it bad enough. Yay!!!!!! We are soooooo very excited!
