i have stage fright (ovousally) i am Afraid that if i sing in front of people they wont like me! i have sang in front of people i know but never people i dont know! any advice?

i can sing but i can not hit the high note! people have told me that i can sing but when i go for the high note it doesnt go very high lol can someone give me some advice?
