Well, the Nutrisystem Diet has been a smashing success for me. all together I’ve lost 30 lbs, going from 160 to 130. I have been taking nutrition classes and havn’t been on the diet for about 3 months to see if using what I learned from the diet and the classes has taughty me to keep the weight off… And it has :). I can identify food items that aren’t the best choices now, and my body has relearned about portion sizes so I no linger look at a huge plate of food and think its barely enough. Now I can take the same amount of food and use the left overs for the next day’s breakfast and dinner and I no longer get that icky stuffed feeling. I have been able to lose the weight slowly (about 8 months, if you count times when I took a break from dieting, to about 6 months of actual doeting time) without much extra exercise cept things like taking the stairs and parking far away from where I have to go.
I still have about 5 lbs to lose to be at the weight I set for myself but I am stopping dieting now because I have decided to start to enter the toning phase of my plan and with that extra exercise I should be able to burn off the extra fat quickly on my own. That and I don’t want to overshoot my goal and risk getting sick.
After I get my body in good physical shape conserning muscles and fat, next step is to work on my various illnesses/wellness and mental health. I feel that I have concured the hardest part and am very proud of myself. I have been trying to get control of my yoyoing weight since I was a child and with genetics against me it seemed impossible. Now I know how to beat my genetics and still keep my basic lifestyle, most of it is changing the quality and amount of food I eat, more wholesome, more variety, cut down on processed foods, I have more energy then I have ever dreamed and I can still eat the occasional chocolate cake hehe. The best part is, my whole family admires me, my father even told his wife that he was so impressed that he wanted to do the same thing and get healthy just like me ^^ My grandpa would be so proud of me. :)
My mother is saving up to send my sister and I to Austrailia this summer. I hope it works out ^^
