Doupamo taught me how to play chess over Winter break in our favorite coffee shop. He has travel size chess and carries it around everywhere he goes. Doupamo is a great instructor but to his dismay, I think I was a pretty bad chess player to begin with. Anyway, I thought it was fun and a nice way to spend the afternoon. I’d do it again.

I had a personal trainer for awhile and there wasn’t really a goal I was working towards other than to just be healthier and turn some fat into muscle. Anyway, I’m not training with him anymore, but he’s worked me up to the point where I can run 5 miles a day without stopping and it’s got to be one of the best feelings in the world. The first time I set to do it, I was just like “okay, 2 or 3 miles will be good” but I ended up going all the way and afterwards was so proud. Now I’m doing it regularly. I try to run 5 miles every day. I feel my body changing, everything is tightening up. I also feel so much happier throughout the day. This is one of the goals I’m most excited about accomplishing. I started off not even thinking about running marathons, but I’m reconsidering now that I know I can actually do it.
I jumped in a fountain in Richmond, VA. I felt like I was 2 years old. It was awesome fountain jumping weather. I got my pants all wet, but obviously didn’t care. It was fun, spontaneous, and random.
