you can’t learn equally when both people have mutually exclusive interests. the bottomline is: NEVER SPEAK ENGLISH, EVER!!! teach them about culture, etiquette, whatever- but if you’re a beginner, I bet you will start in chinese and revert to english in no time. good luck!!
