keep in touch with friends
I owe so many emails!!

Since moving to NZ, I try to stay in touch with my friends and family through email. However, I never, ever get to the stage where I don’t need or want to email any one. The trouble is I’m incapable of writing a quick email – I write essays – and because of this I procrastinate because it’s such a huge task!!

Writing to people generates emails back and then I owe them again!!! I love getting emails and hearing my friends news and I value my friendships and think that email us a great way of staying in touch over distances. Although it’s not as personal as receiving a hand written letter, I am more likely to email rather than write a letter.

I’d like to try and email little and often to everyone.

emigrate to New Zealand
Emigrated to NZ

An idea of travelling evolved into emigrating and in Feb 02 we arrived in Auckland with just the bags on our backs, no home, job, car, friends, etc.

People thought we were mad but we knew if it didn’t work out we could return to England – we had nothing to lose.

5 years later we are now NZ citizens and just love it here. We have our own house in Birkenhead and have just bought an idealic piece of land on the Kaipara Harbour with stunning water and rural views. One day, we’d like to build our own house, grow veges and keep horses but in the meantime, we’ll just go up and camp at weekends!

To anyone thinking of emigrating – JUST DO IT! If it doesn’t work out, at least you can say you’ve tried. That’s much better than wondering ‘what if …’

pass my driving test
Passed at last!

First learnt to drive in the UK aged 17, failed three tests :(

Then due to a lack of money and confidence I got by without driving for years.

Moved to NZ 5 years ago and decided to try again. Passed my Learner License and Restricted License and then, finally, I got my full drivers license just over a year ago, aged 29! Yay!! Now I’ve got it, can’t believe I managed so long without it!

To all those who have failed driving tests – don’t give up, keep trying – you WILL pass one day and all the stress will be worth it!!
