I just visited mine for the first time in about a year. My Mom had been telling me she’s “getting pretty bad” ( Alzheimer’s )
I figured it was just the normal old age forgetfullness thing. Anyway, she didn’t remember me. I sat alone with her and cried. She looked great, but didn’t know what year it was (she thought it was 1962) when I asked her where Grandpa was, she said he went to a sale and would be home soon ( He died in 2000) and she kept calling me sir. At one point, I heard myself asking her to please snap out of it for just 5 minutes so we could talk about our memories together. It was sad. She sat there and smiled as I made small talk with her. she thanked me for visiting her…whoever I was to her at that moment. Please visit your grand parents soon.

If you ever go to Huntsville, Alabama, make sure you check out that big mountain just to the East of town. It’s called Monte Sano and there are some dream homes up there. Every October on my way to the NASCAR race in Talladega, I make sure to drive up there and see it. If I ever win the lottory, I’ll be knocking on their door and asking them to name their price.
Growing up, I always knew I was gonna be famous somehow. I didn’t have a clue how or for what, but I had a feeling I would be. Now as I just turned 40. I see that isn’t going to happen. I just think it would be interesting to have everyone know who you are, read about yourself on the internet, or just see how strange people act around you just because you were famous.
Ever notice how famous people act like they don’t enjoy it, they complain about the lack of privacy, the fans wanting autographs, photographers..etc. yet those are the same people who did everything they could to become famous in the first place.
If there are any moviestars reading this that are sick of all that, get a hold of me, I can give you my nice job selling cars and I’ll live your lifestyle for a few months and make a movie, do the red carpet thing, and see how long it takes me to get tired of people kissing my butt or acting superficial around me.
