Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

At your table, I breathe flowers
I taste shades,
I inhale dreams,
I hear my lover’s voice,
I walk in waves of love.

Charming is the dawn,
because it shines in fragrances
of the most sparkling garden.
Rain and sun!

Between bubbles of splendor,
my lover’s kiss flies sweetly,
she has the scent of myrrh
and lies upon my chest.

My lover is like a wild flower,
her touch brings me luminous wind
like a flower of henna,
or like a flock of tenderness
of the vineyards at Engedi.

nearly far from He-bron.

Glory to the race,
glory to the color,
glory to the beauty of the form.
Glory, glory,
that the negro earned,
glory, glory, that the negro deserves,
soul and life of our Brazil!

Three hundred years since the valiant Zumbi,
three centuries past brave warrior,
three centuries of the growing negro nation,
in the drudgery of slavery,
in the fight for space in our greater culture:
the dance,
the food,
the music,
the cheerful irreverence
active intelligence and freedom,
the natural joy of an innocent act of being
that represents Brazil.

Glory to the arts of Aleijadinho,
glory to the poetry of Gonçalves Dias,
glory to the romance of Machado de Assis,
glory to the voice of Milton Nascimento,
glory to the feet of Pelé.
Glory to the samba of our Carnival.
Together, linked, in history,
all they, and much more
form the real Brazil,
with life and citizenship.

Bless the race that gives color and life
to our great Brazil!

Year zero, year one,
year two, year three.
Initiating a new era.
They are twenty centuries past,
now, the beginning of the Twenty-First,
two thousand years of history:
He came.
Bread of life, light of the world.
Intense brilliance,
divine power, love, much love.
In the celebration of peace,
Jesus arrived.
He came!
Since long ago, the world was prepared:
Century of Péricles, in Greece;
in Rome, Century of Augustus.
Evolution, changes, new habits:
in the arts, in work,
in being and in life,
glades were opened,
trails were cleared,
new thinking in everything
and everywhere.
Before, time of the Baptist,
now, the time of Jesus.
Jesus came!
At each moment, new thoughts:
stories, parables, counsel;
new education,
wisdom for eternity,
examples for a new heart.
The way, the truth, the life,
now the dark night has stars,
everything is illuminated,
because He came!
The master doesn’t send messages:
the example is He himself.
the manger is simplicity,
the temple, wisdom.
In everything, revelation.
Jesus sees who has eyes to see,
He hears who knows how to hear.
Above everything, good feelings.
He came!
Thank You, my Lord,
thank You, today and always,
thank You with all our heart,
for sending us Jesus,
for bringing us His peace.
He really came!
