So I just got back from the Ashram, and it was such an amazing experience. It was exhausting and draining, but completely worth it. I was doing 4 hours a day of yoga, which I had never ever done before, and I loved it! I’m definitely signing up for a yoga class here at home, because I’ve never felt so healthy and invigorated. Yoga wasn’t the only amazing part, I also went to 4 hours of Satsang each day, which was a lot of chanting, meditation, and lectures. I figured that part would be kind of lame, but it was actually really enlightening, and I learned a lot. I went with a small group of my friends, and we’ll definitely be back!

Overall I haven’t made much progress with this goal. I still screen my calls, and the proportion that I actually answer is somewhere around 1/5th. But the other night when the phone rang, it was an unfamiliar number, but I picked it up anyway (I was quite tired; wasn’t thinking straight I suppose), and it was a teacher from my school (whom I have never had, I should mention). He wanted to tell me that I was selected for Cum Laude society, which was exciting and unexpected. Anyway, it was very flattering, and for once I was glad I answered my phone.
Right now I’m 90% sure that my Top Choice is the University of Chicago. I have to figure out how to bridge the gap between my aid money and the actual cost, which should be interesting, to say the least. I will find a way to make it work.
