How I did it: Train from Largs to Ayr then walked out to the racecourse. Bought grandstand tickets then wished we'd bought Club tickets...so we could drink champagne! Enjoyed a few beers and a few bets (first ever!) in the glorious sunshine. Read how I did it…
How I did it: ferry from Te Anau Downs, short walk to Glade house for first overnight > day one: walk from Glade House to Pampalona Hut > Day 2: Pampolona Hut to Quintin Hut > Day 3: Quintin Hut to Milford Sound Lodge Read how I did it…
How I did it: 3 weeks North & South island. Walked the Milford track, kayaked in the Abel Tasman, jumped out of planes, bungyed, drank fine wines and stayed on a vineyard. Read how I did it…

I’m not marking this as done because I could see my friends a bit more and its an ongoing reminder with my family.
My uncle (my dad, lets face it)died a month ago and I’m so pleased with how I managed my last few months with him and the rest of the family. When the news come down to ‘you’ve 1-2months at best’, I took time out from work and went home for a month, helping to nurse him at home and spending as much time as possible laughing, hearing stories and making sure it was as happy a time as it was sad. I even managed to get over the lump in my throat and have those hard conversations you don’t know whether you would have the strength to have. As sad as I am that he’s gone, it comforts me to know that I made the most of that time with him and helped make his last few weeks easier.
I have a good idea for a retail business – is it just possible that I could make a success of it? Know that the idea is bang on consumer needs, have good financially skilled pals who would keep me right and I know how to market it properly. Question is, can I take the risk?
