The press-ups were completed in sets of between 15-30 press-ups. They were (unintentionally but nicely) split equally into the 3 parts of the day – in the morning, afternoon and evening (3×50). This was mainly when I wanted a break from the things I was doing during the day and when I was feeling slightly cold too.
I used a number of variations to the standard press-up, including wide- and narrow-grip. In some of the sets I also did ‘dynamic press-ups’ where I spread my feet and legs as wide as I could laterally, followed by bringing them back to the normal central position, for each press-up. This was in order to activate a greater range of muscles instead of just focusing on one particular group of muscles.
I wonder how long it will take for me to achieve the goal of completing 100 standard press-ups in one go with no rest.
This is the first match I have seen in a football stadium. The two teams that I support were playing against each other – I could not lose, whatever the outcome :-)!
I am really grateful that I got to experience what it is like to watch the two teams in a stadium with my sibling and friend. I particularly enjoyed watching the passion and the reaction of Newcastle United supporters.
