It’s simple, really. When someone complements you, just smile say “thank you.” Don’t protest, or point out your faults – just say “thank you.” :-)
This has become one of mantras in life. It isn’t as hard as you think – just say what you feel, and say it tactfully but sincerely.
Then – be prepared to also learn to listen. If more people could just say what they meant, while truly meaning it – we’d have a lot less confusion, misunderstandings and fights. So pass it on ;)
