To someday buy a house is a fervent ambition of mine. I find the notion of actually owning a parcel of land to be…well, thrilling. Just think: a few centuries ago, possessing real-estate elevated one to an elite social stratum!
(DISCLAIMER: As a historian, I’m compelled to point out that land-ownership had nothing to do with the Plebeian-Patrician distinction in ancient Rome.)

Now that I’ve completed (and aced!) my thesis course, I’m only twelve credits short of receiving a B.A. in History. Three of these classes are quite basic…but the last, I dread.
At my university, all majors are required to attain at least 201-level mastery of a foreign language; there is no exception or alternative. And so, I’ll be taking Spanish 201 next semester. The problem, of course, is that I neither speak nor understand Spanish, despite three years of high-school classes and one college-level course.
If I pass, my degree is all but assured. But if I don’t…[da da DAAA!!!]

I passed the safety course last weekend and received my “M” designation on Monday…all that’s left is this last (and rather important) component. I’m perusing Craigslist daily and submitting offers weekly.
