Hey all,
I’m fed up with the textbooks that I teach my students from here in China so I’ve decided to write my own textbook. I will begin by collating interesting, modern english texts and then create comprehension questions for them.
I don’t know anything about copyright protection (ie the protection afforded to those who have written the interesting modern texts that I want to use) so can anyone tell me what the deal is there? Do I have to write to people and ask for permission to use everything? Even if the textbook will not be sold, only distributed? Even if it will not be published and will be for the use of one institution only?
cheers everyone and good luck!

After initial false starts with casting on and having wool thats a bit mad (don’t know how I would ask for the right kind since I’m in China and my Mandarin isn’t all that good) I’ve done it!
Am now knitting a big red scarf for the cold winter I’m promised is just around the corner!
big love

Hey Guys,
I live in China, teaching English at a College in a little (ish) town called Xianyang.
It’s great, everyone is friendly and the food is wonderful. I only decided to undertake this move in January and now here I am!
My advice is just go for it – forget the limitations which might jostle for position infront of you and surprise yourself with your own decisiveness!
big love
