Book 7:The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas - John Boyne
17 months ago
I really enjoyed this book. Read it over the last few hours. Very easy to read in terms of language and style. Not so easy in terms of topic.
One negative would be the word play that the 9 year old narrator uses through out the book doesn’t make sense when he is meant to be speaking German. “The fury” and “Out With” doesn’t translate.
And most nine year olds aren’t quite that naive perhaps. Though mass media and the Internet probably weren’t as big in the 1940’s. That being said I thought it was a good thought provoking book. 9/10
