yay, yesterday was so ace! nearly wimped out of K’s book launch, but am so glad i didn’t. missed half of the readings, but was there for the postlaunch “hang around with groovy people drinking €1 beer in a bookshop and talk about festivals” bit. and then the four of us trannies went off for another beer… made it home at 2am, so slow getting going today.
and now i have to count how many books i acquired yesterday:
- 3 from the help-yourself-and-make-a-donation pile at chbg library while picking up the bicycle thieves
- 3 library books from stglz library before georgina harding reading
- 1 new signed g harding book (but that’s a present)
- 1 copy of K’s newly launched book (ditto)
- 4 2nd hand books of plays
ok, that’s 12. now i have to look in wednesday’s bag:
- another 6. all slim volumes, including plays and poetry and folk songs, but…
hmm, 18 books in 2 days, clearly the addiction is worsening. i’m afraid it’s all a bit symbolic apart from anything else. how long will it be until i have too much to read in my lifetime on my TBR pile? am probably nearly there.
