public speaking
Toastmasters 4 years ago

I’ve joined a local Toastmasters Group. I don’t have any trouble speaking in front of a group when I have something to say, but having to speak extemporaneously when I’m not sure of what to say is very frightening. I’m going to work on this, though.

6/19/5: I’m now the president of a Toastmaster’s Group called “Progressive Voices.” I have co-presented a 4-week session on reframing. I regularly speak in front of meetings. I’m still working through the first Communications and Leadership Program in Toastmasters.

learn TV production
Public Access Television 4 years ago

We’re now taking a class on Video Production offered by our local access television station in cooperation with the community college. It’s interesting. Here the station has a lot of really great equipment but can’t afford to pay for any one to work at it. Strange combination. Anyway, it’s an eight week course, and our second class is tomorrow.

buy a new car
Collision with a couch 4 years ago

Well, I bought the new car, a Lexus. On the way home from a 200 mile trip, 15 miles from home, we ran into a couch that had just fallen off someone’s truck on the freeway. It was late at night and the couch was dark blue: we didn’t even have a chance to swerve. We’re okay, but the car had $10,000 damage and, sadly, we broke up the sectional.
