Being noisy in the library. You know, I know you’re supposed to be quiet in a library but I like being a rebel and being loud in the school library. A bunch of my friends found me in the library and we were talking, which was fine. But, some of them were just saying the funniest stuff and I have a loud laugh and…well, you know. Lol, no one complained or told us to stop or leave but, you can just tell when people are annoyed. But, forget them!! I think talking should be allowed (or at least laughing).
1)Surviving the weekend. I had such a long weekend at my job working crazy hours. I felt absolutely dead by the end of last night. But, I made it through without snapping or killing anyone and my bosses said I was doing a very good job (which they never do. Normally they are quite mean) so, it was worth it. It will be a nice paycheck, I’m sure ;)
2)Skipping physics. I am still so tired from my weekend, though. I’m in no mood for physics. My physics class will have already started by now but, I shot my professor and email and decided to not go to that class. I’m going to do my observations and go to Spanish…just not physics. lol.
3)Meeting with my lesson plan partner. I hate my lesson plan partner. He is so unmotivated and doesn’t understand anything. Our lesson plan is next Thursday and we haven’t even met yet. Luckily, I got him to agree to meet me today. So, hopefully things will go smoothly and we’ll start figuring out what we want to do.
The cold. It’s starting to get cold around here and I love it! It’s 39 degrees right now and it will only get colder from here! I hope it drops suddenly and we start getting some snow around here! BRING ON THE WINTER!!!
My lesson plan partner getting in contact with me. So, for intro to edu we have a lesson plan project that we must do with a partner. My partner…I don’t like him very much. He let me choose the topic but, I can tell her has some shadows of doubt. I told him not to worry, I would gladly do the work, get the materials, and teach what he will need to know to do the lesson but, he seems resilient. He did contact me, though, and said we would talk tomorrow in class. But, we still need to meet up so, I hope we are able to make arrangements to do that otherwise, we’re screwed. Or rather, he’s screwed. Because I know exactly what I want to to and how I want to teach it but, it will bring down both of our grades if it’s obvious that I was the only one doing anything. But, his contacting me IS progress so, we’ll just have to see what happens tomorrow!
1)Observing Mr. Daly. Oh, how I do so miss his class. Getting the opportunity to sit in his classes once more really brings me back. I love him and I love his class. He has such a dry sense of humour, just how I like it! I love to talk to him afterward too. He gives great advice and he’s just a pleasure to talk to even if he is a little tired and apathetic. I love to bring a smile to his face :)
2)Bumping into one of my old math teachers. Since I’m observing at my old high school, I get the chance to bump into a lot of my old teachers. Today I bumped into one of my old math teachers! Even though I hate math, he taught very well and I remember a lot of the techniques that he taught. I thought back to all the things we have been talking about in intro to education lately and how, when a student comes back and gives a compliment to the teacher, that is absolutely what they live for. So, I thought I would try it and see his reaction. I told him that I enjoyed his class more than any of my college math classes and I remember more of what he taught me than what they have in terms of good technique. I could see him beaming and trying in vain to suppress his smile. We chatted for a bit before I took my leave but, I’m glad I was able to make his day and it made me happy to make him so happy :) Also, I was surprised he remembered me when he saw me! I guess it really goes to show that students can make an impact on a teacher. I had always been friendly to him and we would talk a lot after class when I had him. He had me twice during my high school career. Today, when he saw me he went “Oh God!” It made me so happy that he recognized me! So, we both made each other’s day!
3)Delicious cafeteria muffin. Before I went to my Spanish test today, I stopped by the cafe and grabbed a muffin. I love their muffins so much and today I tried a chocolate chip one. It was as great as the other varieties! Haha! Sometimes, these muffins are the pinnacle of my day!
Quick tests. I had a Spanish test today and I was hoping that I would be able to do it and scram. Thankfully, my wish came true! It was a short, easy test and I got out in 20 minutes. WOOHOO! I love when that happens!
Cafeteria food. I really love the food at my school. For some reason, it is really great. I don’t normally get a big lunch there but, today I did. Everything there is great, though. I often stop by and grab a muffin in the morning or something. They have great brownies too. I especially love their grilled chicken sandwich and their fries. They also make good egg and cheeses. I just love cafeteria food! XD
1)Having someone to hang out with during my break. I have a fairly long break between my two classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays but there is no sense in me going home so I normally just stay in the library. I have both of these classes with this one girl, Sam. She asked if I wanted to have lunch with her during the break and of course I said yes. Then we went to the library and we chatted. Surprisingly, we have a lot more in common than I thought. It was nice to be with someone during that break.
2)Hearing the news that I will be getting a new laptop sometime this week. My grandpa buys a lot of computers and, every so often, he will give them away to someone in the family (for example, the lappy I’m on now is from him HAHA!). My laptop isn’t broken or anything but, I guess my mom talked him into giving me a newer one and then this laptop being a back-up/ one for my mom. I’m not complaining! Haha! But, I will miss this laptop.
3)Getting back on livemocha. It has been a while since I’ve had the opportunity to get on this site. I love livemocha and I love helping people with their entries on there. I forgot how much fun it was! I did a bunch today and I got to talk to some nice people as well as be requested to correct/review a bunch of work. Love it!
Not having to pay attention. There is nothing i enjoy more than spacing out in class, especially when there is really know need to pay attention because the teacher is talking nonsense. Both of my classes allowed me to do this today. I was pleased.
Getting action figures in the mail. The excitement never fades! It always gives me something to look forward to when I know I have one coming. It normally takes 2 weeks for one to arrive at my house from Japan and I had a feeling one I was waiting on would show up today and it did! I was so excited and so glad to add her to my collection! I just wish I had more free time to play around with her and a couple of my other new ones who I haven’t been able to play with yet (I’m such a kid, lol) but, once this semester is over, you BETTER believe I’m going to play with them and take a ton of pictures! HAHA! I’m a loser, I know but, hey! everyone has hobbies!
1)Observations. I was so happy with observing one of my classes today! I observed my old English teacher from high school and today he did a lesson on David Sedaris (my favourite author). I LOVED IT! He and I share a similar sense of humour and I feel like only he and I truly got the humour while all the other students were like “wtf???” It was great!!
2)Funny Spanish class. So, there is this girl in my Spanish class who has a similar sense of humour as me and, if she starts to laugh, so do I and vice versa. She is a black girl, a little heavy set, and a HUUUUGE afro (like, I mean seriously big!!!!). In our class, we’re not allowed to laugh, especially when someone is talking but one of my friends, Mark, has such a dry sense of humour and, when he reads, it’s sounds SOOO ridiculous! I don’t know if it’s on purpose or not but, in any case, it’s funny to hear him and then have our teacher correct him every second (our teacher is a quack, too. It’s such a weird class). So, Michelle (the girl) started to giggle a little, then I started, then she burst out and then me!! I couldn’t stop! I was bright red, I know it!!! Mark’s a good sport though and knew I didn’t mean it but, I couldn’t stop laughing after that! It was one of those “you have to be there” moments but, DAMN! It was so funny and made the class enjoyable, for sure!
3)Stamp shopping. I went to the post office today because I had to send an airmail and I ended up buying a bunch of stamps. I bought 20 international stamps, 20 regular stamps, and I got a bunch of airmail stickers. HAHAHA! I wasn’t even expecting to do that but, I’m glad I did! Haha!
New comforter. My poppy gave me his comforter (which he never used) because it was too heavy and too hard to move underneath it. I LOVE IT! It’s a big denim comforter and it is very warm! It is kind of heavy but, I like the feeling of the weight while I sleep. :) I’m very happy that he gave it to me! Just in time for the winter!
I was observing a class for my classroom observation requirement and they were talking about rhyme and I couldn’t help but blurt out when someone said that nothing rhymed with “orange” that “door hinge” did! HAHA! I must have seemed ridiculous but, I’m just spreading awareness!!
Studyiiiiing! I know, I’m a freak. But, I’m so glad I’ve been able to squeeze in Japanese lately. It’s been rough trying to do my school work (which is a lot this semester) and do my work at work and do the other things I want to do and do the necessary things for living and then throw Japanese in there…GOSH! I barely have time to do anything but study, read, or write! But, I have been able to get in a little, at least. Even if it’s mostly review, that is just as important. So, I’m glad :)
1)Work. Again. Haha! Not much more to say except I am loving being the talking reindeer! Some little girl sang Santa Clause is Coming to Town to me today. I nearly cried it was so cute. I will never forget her! She was really nervous at first when she was talking to me and I didn’t think she would sing when I asked her. I asked because she asked for a something to record her singing on for Christmas. So, I said “Why don’t you sing me a Christmas song?” and she did! She was so brave! I absolutely loved it. It made everything I do worthwhile!
2)Seeing my friend. I haven’t seen my friend at work for a long time now it seems! I got to eat lunch with her today, though. It was such a pleasure to see her and talk to her again. She is such a charm to be around and so funny even when she’s in a bad mood. I hope I get to see her more often now that I’m at work again!
3)Getting my Spanish homework done. I’m such a procrastinator but, I actually got my Spanish homework done before tomorrow when I have the class! I feel good about getting it done since I normally wait to the very last possible minute. But, now I won’t have to worry about it. Thank gosh!
Drawing. I don’t think I’m very good at it but, I like to do it anyways. I drew a picture for one of my penpals. I’m going to send it to her tomorrow along with a response to her letter. I hope she likes it!! In either case, I had a good time drawing it. It was fun to lose track of time and focus on something fun for once.
Relaxed day. Even though I went to work and was busy, I felt very relaxed and at ease. It has been hard for me to relax lately because I am very stressed about school and just life in general but, I felt very care-free today and being able to talk and connect with children made me feel great. Just a good day in general.
1)Starting Rudolph. I have a job on the weekends to be the Talking Rudolph and it is so much fun. For Halloween I was the talking pumpkin and, apparently, I did such a knock-up job that I got promoted to Rudolph!!! The kids today were great! Very cute and funny. Even the shy ones I found easy to talk to. My job is just to talk so, even if the kids are silent then I will just tell a story. I was nervous to do Rudolph because it is so popular in my town and I thought it would be too busy for me to handle but, I’m really enjoying myself.
2)Getting extra hours at work. Instead of 11-4, I work 11-6 on Sat and Sun! Woohoo 4 extra hours! I need all the hours I can get so, any little bit helps :)
3)Studying during downtime. So, since it is a little early for the Christmas spirit, Rudolph was not SOOO incredibly busy so, in my free time, I was able to study Japanese. Since school has been very busy, I have been falling behind like no one’s business but, I started studying out of this book I’ve had for a while and I find that it is very easy to study from especially in a situation such as being at work. Haha, does that make sense! I do try to study as much as I can but, today at work, I felt like I really study for a solid chunk of time and it felt nice to get back in the swing of things.
Hershey Kisses. Does it need explaining? I think it is quite possible that a whole day can be made exponentially better if Hershey Kisses are involved. Just saying!
I am getting better at paying attention and doing this but I am still not perfect. I get very lazy some nights and just skip it. But, I think I will be able to do it. I already see improvement so, that’s a good sign!
