Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

Biggest sweet tooth ever

1800 calories today. Damn. Still under 2000, but i really do need to cut it down if i want to shed those pounds by the time i go back to uni.

1500 ish calories. Not the 1200 I eventually want to eat consistantly but a step in the right direction. Thinking a mini one day fast tomorrow but not sure if I have that will power yet. Worried that if i try to push this i’ll end up binging and feeling bad about myself, again. Hmmm…maybe no fast just yet then

edit; Ate 1700 calories :( I wrote this before i ate diner and i intended to have something different. I started craving my fav green vegetarian curry and rice so I caved, damn that conviniantly located Thia resturant

New outlook?

1600ish calories today.
Not great, but it’s a start. Going to aim for 1200 but not going to beat myself up if i dont quite get that low! I’ve decided to approach this with a more positive, lineant and forgiving outlook. No beating my sef up over slips! Maybe this time it will work?

Day 2

Blargh already struggiling. its all works fault! all the coffee and muffins i can eat for FREE! that + diet is not a good combination. also im sooo soooo tired today i ate heaps of sugar just for the energy hit just to make it through the day. heres hoping tomorrow will improve

Day 1

Ive decided i really need to blog here everyday to keep myself accountable. So today i am starting fresh over, well as of right now i am. i ate horribly badly this morning….hangovers make me crave greasy foods… but why wait for tomorrow to get back on track?
After a big night drinking and a stomach full of food i weigh 71 kilos (156 pounds) which is really bad, normally i sit at around 68 (150) so yeah woops!
Today so far ive eaten/drunken
glass of mocha sustagen, 1 glass lemon water, can of pepsi max, can of 7 up, leftover tia food and large KFC chips with sauce and i still have dinner to go yet. blargh
so im gonna set mini goals to help my achieve this goal here ill start with
1) Drink more water!

2) take my lunch to work, otherwise i snack on bread and baked goods

screwed up royally this morning on this one. felt quite seedy this morning after a big night out so for breakfast i had a whole packet of tim tams and some more candy.woops! ohh well i shouldnt let a couple of mistakes ruin me. healthy dinner tonight thats foe sure

So yesterday it was my birthday. I ate so much cake. 4 pieces to be exact (including one for breakfast). So this morning i hasatintly stepped on the scales and it said i had LOST 4.5 pounds!!!! What the hell? It will probably go back to normal/up tomorrow, but untill then im not complaining!

I really really really want to do this and have for a long time but…. no, I’m not afraid of needles! i have anemia! damn vegetarianism! lol. went to the docs for a blood test yesterday- results on tuesday. with any luck, ill be able to get my levels up (through supplemnts) enough to give blood!!! but im not gonna hold my breath….

went to the doctors yesterday, they suspect im SEVERLEY anemic…had blood tests done, results on tuesday…
but with any luck can get something to help and i’ll feel less lethargic and will have more energy to work out! and i’ll eat less sugar just for the energy which would be good. apparently im acctually quite young to have it (im still 17) but being a vego can do that to you!
oh well, hopefully fixing this problem will somehow help my weight…

so far ive had
2 glasses of fresh oj
2 slices of rasin toast (no buter/jam/anything)
1 madirin, 1 kiwi fruit & 2 small plums
1 small mocha

so ive eaten ALOT already, and i havent even gotten to dinner.
The afternoon is my worst time- but hopefully i can stay stong between now and dinner (which will hopefully be brown rice and steamed veg)!
Ive done 30 mins of walking and plan on doing 100 sit-ups tonight

so today, only 4 days from my exam, i got really sick- and i havent even started studying yet. crap. so its of to the docs tomorrow!

do 100 crunches a day for 100 days

i think ill maybe focus on this goal in a fortnight or two, After ive finished my uni exams and sorted out what i want to do next semester ill make this a priority, i hate my stomach fat!

i think ive decided that, yes, psychology is what i want to study but that its not what i want to do right now. so, im going to finish this semester at uni, then take a gap year to work, and travel- then i think i should be ready to commit to uni and psych!

minor setback...

i know i shouldnt make excuses, but my laptop died and i needed to buy another one for uni- so i had to put my gym money onto my laptop fund. and now im broke. this one will have to go on the backburner. however, tomorrow i might buy new headphones for my ipod and start walking around the reserve thats only a 15min walk away from my house. Baby steps, right?
