i think that i can pull this off after i graduate from college. i google mapped it and everything. it’ll be like 6000 miles roundtrip. i was thinking of starting in my favorite city in the world [aka my hometown, santa ana] in orange county to NYC. i remember i saw that food not bombs members in arcata did that, i thought it was a FUCKING ambitious goal and said hey, why not?! so yeah… soon. anybody wanna join?
it was at school and the red cross lady was just standing there asking people to go to the gym and donate blood. i for one was definitely in the mood for giving my blood because my school excused students from class if they donated blood so that was a plus. :D for some reason, it felt like it was something natural to me. but then again i remember as a little kid i loved looking at my blood go through the little butterfly needle. it was awesome. and teh whole experience brought back those memories so i was in the clear. after my first time, i was anxious to sign up for the next drive because i knew there were more perks behind giving blood than the pure satisfaction of knowing that you were “saving a life”. all in all, in high school i donated 5 times and its been a while since i last donated, but i’m not exactly sure where the damn clinic is. it was so easy before.
i remember the last time i donated, the guy was just downright made for phlebotomy. you could tell that this guy was really into what he was doing. he was so creepy and cool i started talking to him about all sorts of things, like what kind of gauge the needles were and whether i wanted a smaller gauge, etc… hahahaha…. just go and do it and don’t puss out.
