I applied for a job as a server at Pizza Hut online on Monday night. I’m hoping that they give me an interview, but who knows when I will find out if I get one! I’m just really hoping to have a job soon… I like having my own money and feeling independent from my parents. Even if it means having no fun and doing nothing but schoolwork and workwork, I really want to get this job!

How I did it: I read whenever I felt like reading. During the school year, I don't have a lot of time to read, unless it's assigned reading, so the summer was when I read most of the books on my list. I enjoyed it, which made it easier. I think if I had had to force myself to read, I would have hated it. Luckily, I love a good book. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I worked on a little bit of the closet or the dresser each day. The dresser was the easiest, doing a drawer or two each evening. The closet took a bit more time, but I got rid of a lot of clothes, packed away some for winter/summer, donated books, and just made a lot of extra room in my already small bedroom. I feel good. How I did it: I used Netflix, going to the theater with friends, and just browsing television for opportunities to record movies I hadn't seen. I enjoyed most of the movies quite a bit, so trying to achieve this goal never felt like a chore. It was a fun goal, and perhaps I'll do it again next year! Read how I did it…

I would love to get a job. Having to rely on my parents for money is tough, especially since they don’t have a lot of money to spare themselves. I’ve applied at a few places, but no where seems to be hiring. :/ I guess I’ll just have to hang in there until something comes along.
I’ve found that writing everyday or having to write on most days just does not work for me – I have to be in the mood to write in my journal, and most importantly, have something to say. By journal-ing throughout the year, I am chronicling my year as well as utilizing my journal as a venting tool, rather than viewing writing in it as a chore or a “must-do.” I’m doing well with this, and write probably once a week or more. Editing this goal to fit what works best for me has proven to be successful.
