More than halfway there. I fedex’ed the bulk of my application earlier this week, and all I have left are the scholarship forms (ughhh, the worst part too!). I sometimes feel like applying for this program has taken over my life, but I’m convinced that my proposed research topic is worth it, despite my misgivings about academia.

Alas, I am obsessed, addicted, determined! Finished the Dec. 16th, Washingtonpost.com puzzle on Java applet without any help or clues. Only thing is, they have this wonderful button called “check” ;)

getting there. Had to use the thesaurus for one clue and Google to check the other answer, but I pretty much did it without any other references. Of course, it helps that I know there are 2 Pliny’s and that I recently encountered “creosote” in a Sherlock Holmes story. ;) I can do this…
