I got a tattoo while I was in Amsterdam for the second time. I got a tattoo of a tulip with a swirly stem – to me the tulip is a symbol of grace, beauty and strength.

How I did it: We left our daughter with my parents, flew from L.A. into Tahiti, spent the night, flew a tiny little plane to Bora Bora, stayed a few nights in an overwater bungalow on Moorea at the Sheraton Moorea, then a few nights on an outer motu in a garden suite with a private pool at the Bora Bora Pearl Beach Resort. How I did it: We got certified for scuba in Cyprus, then hired a guide dive in Moorea and Bora Bora. We went diving down in the reef and swam out in the ocean with black-tipped reef sharks. Later, in a captive situation, we swam with more of these and lemon sharks. The funniest part was that the divemaster brought along a large prepared fish carcass to lure the sharks. Fish parts attracted the sharks to come within 3 feet of us! Read how I did it…
