I always get bogged down with “the crud” in the winter—and so many of my friends swear by the master cleanse as a way to get rid of all those toxins that wear down your immune system. I don’t really want to lose weight, but I do want to get through the winter without feeling sluggish, mildly depressed, foggy headed, bloated, and sniffly. I figure that the master cleanse might be a good start.
On a practical level: this month, my kitchen (and living room, and dining room, and kids’ room is under renovation (yipes), so it will be a great time to take my focus off of food. Plus, I can only eat so much brocolli and mac and cheese—whereas my children are thrilled to get more of it, instead of the more complex foods that I generally prepare.
So here’s to a successful first attempt!
