"the road flows like a river"

i should be hearing within the next week or two about current costs for vet bills, vaccinations, travel expenses and possible dates for arrival, etc. the next step will be their actual vet checks and dr. palmer’s blessing that they are in good enough health.

and i hope with every bit of everything i have that all of that goes over smoothly.

they are the oldest of the cats i am lucky enough to have so once they come, if they come, i won’t be able to move them such a crazy distance again. the american cats are young enough to travel back home someday but jade and jet are probably not… which i am sure is a small part of why i am so desperate to be reunited with them, to be able to pamper them and love them, to do all the little things that made them happy. and so, many things hinge on this one factor.

one step at a time, i keep telling myself.

it all leads into each other, the plans and places and times spent where.

i don’t know if i did anything out of character as such, but there was fun. by midnight we were watching andy’s band play – the night included their otis redding cover of respect, dedicated to me; matt playing a killer set after only being in the band for four hours; lots of hugging and laughing; carrying drums out into the freezing cold night with headphones on and just generally being in love with everyone. staying up all night and spending an hour on the phone with my mom the next afternoon. grocery shopping and purchasing lovely things for the upcoming feast at a friend’s house. watching silly, silly movies and staying warm with the kitties. soaking it all in, which was ultimately the point for me.

the boy and i used christmas money to open a savings account for this and recieved a $25 bonus. yay! first goal within this goal: save enough to cover the rent while we’re in africa.
