Picture it: eTech 2005, tagging BOF. The discussion is on something or other and I happen to enter a discussion with Erik Benson about tagging and 43 Things without even realizing that he wrote the darn thing. Anyhow, Erik’s a cool guy and I’d be happy to meet other 43 Thingers (I bet I’ve met others without even realizing it). Oh, and I’m in Hawaii, so if you are out here on Oahu drop me a line.

I lived in Paris for almost a year. I highly recommend it as a place to visit, but not as a place to live and work. I suggest visiting in spring or fall. Summer is pretty dead in Paris (everyone is vacationing in the south of France) and winter is grey and cold.
If you do go to visit please respect the people. There seems to be this rift between Americans and the French and it is only made worse if you are an American and you go to France and act loud and obnoxious and are very demanding. The French culture is about patience, refinement and excellence. If you go just relax and enjoy the slower pace. Eat a two-hour meal and enjoy it. Don’t be in a hurry and be polite and you will take in so much more from the French people.
Having grown up surfing on the East Coast of Florida it was always a dream of mine to live in Hawaii…I’ve now been here for 7 months and it’s been awesome. If you can do it you should live right on the water. Best place to live…ever.
