And decided to just get rid of all my crap.

The majority of my twitter account, which used to have really emo entries in it, is really happy.

Life moves on. I think I can safely close this entry.

Currently, I am working on a definitive list of things that a bad ass girl would know how to do. My best male friend and I are compliling a list of skills that I should aquire in order to be considered truly a bad ass girl.

They are:

Badass Skills for a Girl

1. Run two miles in sixteen minutes

A. Have someone teach me how to not run like a girl

2. Learn to lift weights

3. Learn to shoot a high caliber weapon

4. Drive a stick shift

5. Know how to box (or at least fight)

6. understand college football (suggested by Adam)

7. Do at least 20 pushups

8. Do at least 10 pull ups

I don’t know why, it’s entirely childish, but I’ve started learning various Spanish swear words. Most come from my collegue Kevin, but some have come from surprising places.

I can’t wait until school is out so I can start working with Melanie. I even dug out my old textbooks last night and have started flipping though my vocabulary.

I found my local recycling center and am planning on picking up these recycling bins on my next Taco Mac Tuesday. Then on Sundays after Apple, I’ll drive my stuff down to the recycling center.

Got the GRE book and worked on it some last night after practicing my guitar.

I still suck at math. Good thing I don’t take the test until September..

I found a tutor named Melanie who works at my school who will be tutoring me over the summer. No more three-year old Spanish for me. It’s been getting progressively worse at work because there are so many people that only speak Spanish that want help, but have to wait around for someone to help them because only four of the guys know Spanish.

Why didn’t I pay more attention in class?

I get emailed like, once a week saying the dumbest things just to try and hook me again. It’s incredibly amusing. I don’t even read them anymore, I just hit delete.

Awesome.

I hope you guys aren’t miserable too. There are so many other things worth worrying about than some creepy dude.

Right now, I’m surfing Craigslist looking for a tutor in my area. My goal is to be able to have conversations with my Spanish-speaking customers in a year.

So, as a part of this whole “start a new life” goal I’ve begun cleaning things out of my apartment. Getting rid of little knick knacks, clothes I don’t wear anymore and getting this weird sense of accomplishment. After school lets out, I’m organizing everything into plastic bins and labeling them with my shiny, new label maker.

I found this really great local guy, Kevin to teach me guitar every Thursday. So far, I pretty much suck. But it’s kind of fun to sit on my back porch fiddling with it and trying switch chords. Now that the weather’s nice, it’s pretty much my new favorite thing to do.

I’ve turned over a new leaf! In the last month, I’ve finally started playing my guitar (after years of saying that I would), throwing BSG viewing parties every week, going out and making new friends and just living life on my own terms.

It feels really, really good.

I have moved on to dating other men, it’s kind of scary but really fun.

Keep working on this goal everybody, it’s worth it in the end.

I’ve moved past the initial reason for why I wanted to start a new life and can now really focus on what the heck I am going to do. I want to live one of those simple, uncomplicated lives that includes a balance between work and socializing while keeping a regular routine.

I think zenhabits.net is going to be my best resource. Eiieee. I’m excited.

I have a tiny Moleskine journal that I have made into a compliments journal. The front page says, “God was showing off when he made you” and “We are prepared for insults but compliments leave us baffled.”

We’ll see how this works. ;-)

I’m not sure what happened but I started thinking about him less and less. I didn’t want to hurt him or make him pay. I was just suddenly not interested anymore.

No idea how it happened. But it’s worth doing.

I’m lazy. My house is a mess, I have gained weight, and I eat poorly because I’m lazy. I’m giving up being lazy for Lent.

I got dumped really hard about a week ago tomorrow. How has it already been a week?! It was one of those “I’m going through a lot right now and can’t be in a relationship – with anyone.” He did this whole I still love you, empty promises thing and it just sucked. I just don’t believe him. Which is sad after a year and a half.

So, I read “It’s Called a Break-Up Because It’s Broken” which made a lot of sense to me. Even if I am okay in our relationship, he wasn’t. I think he was out the door months ago, even when I tried to break up with him the first time.

I’ve seen lots of girls (mostly in movies) dwell on getting dumped and just being pathetic. I refuse to be pathetic because of one relationship. I’m going to move on and have a better life. I loved him and that’s in the past. No more being sad.

One relationship over. Start over on a new life.

So, I am going to apply to get my Master’s Degree in history. I’m really excited, the due date is 16 November. I need three recommendations, a decent GRE score and a mission statement.

I need to get the GRE dates and a book to help me study. Math. Ew.
