clicked on the wrong bit!
doing better with this – cooked a great sirloin steak last night. Shame it’s still soup or sandwiches on the days I can’t be bothered with the effort of cooking.
I think I want to get just a few dishes that I can cook well – will be a start…
Thinking of learning 8 main dishes, 3 starters and 3 puddings.
Will see how it goes…
Well, I’m over here now. Is a tad cold but am glad I went for it. I’m in a nice house with 3 Kiwi’s and have sorted myself out with a little car. Work is going OK too.
Looking forwrd to seeing a bit of New Zealand.
I leave in about 2 weeks for Dunedin in the South of New Zealand. I’m looking forward to it despite the fact I’ll be going just as NZ enters it’s winter. Not sure how long I’ll be there – between 4 months and 18 months…
I managed another half day of walking when I went back to see my parents recently. I think I’ve walked about a quarter of it now (in a few day segments). I’ll just have to keep picking off at it when I go back home.
I was down in Ushuaia earlier this year (the Southern tip of South America where most ships to Antartica leave from) and did look at going. Unfortunately I get very sea sick and thought better of it. There are flights from Chile (Punta Arenas) but they are only there for a day and cost about 2100 US Dollers.
Will have to sort out my sea sickness or run into some money!
I’ve just got back from travelling in South America. I went to Ushuaia (the most Sothernly town in the world) and I thought it would make a good place to send the message. Unfortunately I ran out of time and had to run for a bus. I had, however, written a quick message that I left in my hostel and was latter found by 2 couples that I had spent time with. Got an email the next day to tell me how funny they found it…
Of to NZ soon. May try from there…
Went for the train option rather than the treck as I´ve so ill this week. Was still great and we were first in at 5.50AM.
Unfortunately the clouds took about 4 hours to lift and by that time there were loads of people climbing all over the site. Still, was well wroth seeing and I´d recommend it.
