How I did it: I enjoy Phillipa Gregory's historical novels. I've read several over the past few years, and picked up "the Other Queen" centering on the story of Mary Queen of Scotts and Elizabeth Shrewsbury & her husband George. The tale was absolute drudgery to read for some reason - I'm usually engaged quickly but with this one I had a slow read. How I did it: I purchased a quilted fabric, then sorted out the dimensions - a rectangle for the base, connected the side pieces, then made handles and a self-lining. The whole project took one afternoon and now I have a happy, sunny tote for the market. Read how I did it…

I made a friend who invited me to rent kayaks and give it a try this summer. Weather is almost warm enough and she lives on a lovely waterway. Probably in June or July.
