I've read several over the past few years, and picked up "the Other Queen" centering on the story of Mary Queen of Scotts and Elizabeth Shrewsbury & her husband George. The tale was absolute drudgery to read for some reason - I'm usually engaged quickly but with this one I had a slow read. How I did it: I purchased a quilted fabric, then sorted out the dimensions - a rectangle for the base, connected the side pieces, then made handles and a self-lining. The whole project took one afternoon and now I have a happy, sunny tote for the market. Read how I did it…

I made a friend who invited me to rent kayaks and give it a try this summer. Weather is almost warm enough and she lives on a lovely waterway. Probably in June or July.
