Pet my cat (read all 2 entries…)
Finally 23 months ago

After a year of trying, I finally won his trust. He’s still somewhat feral, and gets a bit bitey from time to time, but I stroke him every day, and he sleeps on my bed at night. The next thing’ll be getting him on my lap – another 6 months I reckon…

Monsieur Le Noir 2 years ago

My cat’s the apple of my eye. He’s feral and rescued from the Arabian desert. Gaining trust is a long slow process. It’s been nearly a year now. We get close, a couple of feet, but stroking and petting’s a way off yet. He’s a brilliant little guy.

pierce my navel
Been and gone 2 years ago

I had a bar for a few years. It had to go because I kept aggravating it in martial arts training, but I would thoroughly recommend it. I loved it, it was a great experience and a fantastic feeling!

Be careful where you get it done. It takes a long time to heal (mine took a year) and it’s a very infection prone part of the body to mess with, so you need an expert to do it and spotless hygiene. It does hurt, it’s supposedly the most painful piercing you can have, but the pain is gone in an instant. Don’t be tempted to play with it until it heals.

detox
I want to go... 2 years ago

I want to go on one of those retreats – live in a hut, drink fruit juice, do breathing exercises and flush my insides out…

appear on an album cover
A nice surprise 2 years ago

Some friends and I are on the cover of old punk band UK Subs lp, “Live Kicks”, recorded at the Rainbow Theatre, Finsbury Park in 1980.

be in a music video
An interesting experience 2 years ago

I’ve only made one video but had a lot of fun doing it. And, as a fan, I was in the crowd scenes for Radiohead’s Creep.

Go to a rave
Those Were The Days My Friend, We Thought They'd Never End 2 years ago

I have great memories of the first raves in the early 90’s around the M25 Orbital. Biology, Sunrise, Fantazia etc and all the crusty do’s that sprang out of the free festival scene. Secret ‘phone numbers sending you from place to place, meeting up on garage forecourts, dodging the police roadblocks, and then eventually hooking up with the convoy and finding some field in the middle of nowhere, bass bins pumping acid house over the surrounding countryside. Charlie Says…and the best disco biscuits ever…

Be A DJ
Don't believe the hype 2 years ago

I did this for a few years, played some famous clubs, hopped on some ‘planes with my record boxes. It’s fun, but never forget that you’re only playing records and that the star is the music, not you! The money can be very good, but the further you take it, the more idiots you have to deal with. If you don’t have good social skills, if you’re not supremely confident, if you don’t dance, if rhythm isn’t in your soul, don’t bother…

exercise every day
I used to... 2 years ago

I used to train every day but for a while now I’ve been lazy. I’ve got to get back on it. But when I say every day, I mean 6 out of 7.

learn to SCUBA dive
It's... 2 years ago

It’s amazing, there’s nothing like it. Once I got over the initial freak on my first dive of my brain telling me it was wrong to breathe underwater, I was hooked… I’m training for Rescue Diver at the moment, then it’s on to Divemaster. I love it.

learn to dance. Really dance.
It's... 2 years ago

It’s hot. What I like about it particularly is that it’s intimate but at the same time it has established boundaries. It’s unique, and very sexy.

change careers
They say... 2 years ago

They say life is short, but that’s bollocks. It’s the longest thing you will ever experience. There’s plenty of time to do many things with yours!

appear on top of the pops
Yes & No 2 years ago

It was a childhood ambition, so from that perspective I’m glad. But it shattered my illusions of the music business once and for all (negative). But… it was a timely catalyst which spun my life in a different direction (positive). I wish I hadn’t lost the VHS tape though…

Get a tattoo
My personal theory 2 years ago

...for what it’s worth. Many may disagree, and that’s fine. Have something that means something, not just some irrelevant design for the sake of it. Don’t go looking for it just because you think you should, or because you’re buzzed about the idea – that excitement will probably pass, but a tattoo marks you for ever, so be positive, be sure. When it’s appropriate, you’ll know, in a sense it will find you. Less is more.
