You’ll be better off just picking up a ton of history books and learning the facts. I get kind of annoyed when geeks I know actually get real history confused with Stephenson’s story. Jesus.
Avoid Texas

I (heart) the USA and driven across it 3 times, as well as the Al-Can highway (Alaska/Canada) 5 times. It’s a great country and have had a great time in every state except Texas. For some reason I was always hassled there.
