I’m an actress.

Like, a hardcore actress. I’m very heavily involved in theatre, local and broad, and I know and accept most of the grunt work that comes with it. It pains me deeply whenever I see these little tiny Barbie dolls that are like, “omgggg i such a gud actrezz plz hier me i luv acting im so gud at it1!/ i act infront of mii miror nd i wanna b on TV“

I just think, “Do they even know? Is it my place to tell them how truly hard it can be?”

I mean, if they love acting for what it really truly IS, then more power to them.

I can just SEE the looks on their faces when they talk about seeing their names in lights. But do they see the look on my face when I tell them that that’s not what it’s all about?

I’m so cynical towards it, and I’d love to love it.
