I was pregnant for the better part of last year, hoping and praying for a son. I didn’t think I would know how to handle a daughter, because I am such a tomboy myself. When I found out she was a girl, I was quite disappointed, but I knew I would love her just as much. Once she was born, I couldn’t imagine her any other way. I still can’t. Having a child is one of the main joys in life that no one should deprive themselves of.
