Prioritize, Focus & Follow-Through (read all 10 entries…)
Last entry was March?!?!

No wonder I am not making any progress on this goal! I am going to move this to my first goal and work on this as my next challenge goal. I need to prioritize what I need to do in my life and then I need to work on doing it.

So much to do!!!

I'm hit and miss on this goal.

I do better at work then I do when I am running errands. This makes sense because I have relationships with people at work so it’s easier to compliment people. I am going to donate the $100 to charity since I am not accomplishing this goal but I will keep working on this.

One carryover goal and two new ones.

1. spot clean stains on carpeting
2. take clothes to the dry cleaners.
3. buy new light bulbs for walkway lights.

Walk in a cemetery at night
It was scary

only because of all the silly scary movies I have watched as a kid and the fears came back to me. It was quiet and peaceful once I got my fears under control.

Accomplished for Jan. 19

I complimented someone at work again. I find that this is easier to do if I am around more people because there are more opportunities to notice something positive.

I learned some interesting stuff today.

About how to motivate people. This is always usual knowledge and even more useful if I actually put it into practice!

Lunch with Friends

A nice restaurant and lunch with friends. The food was very good and it was fun to get away and relax. I just find that with these people the conversation is a bit lacking when we are together. I think it’s due to work relationships and “pecking orders”.

OK, goal met yesterday.

I complimented someone at work. I find it easier to accomplish this goal if I am at work just because I am around more people.

I baked cookies! The oven had been acting up so I decided to test that it is working (it is) by baking cookies. Yum. Cookies are wonderful hot out of the oven.

I cooked a few times over the weekend.

Nothing fancy but at least I am back in the kitchen. It’s nice to walk into a clean kitchen and find the items I need to fix a meal.

I'm not around people on the weekends...

so it looks like I’ll be making a donation. I want to keep working on this goal and make it habit so I’m not giving up on this goal, I’m just going to keep focusing on this.

This is on track to happen.

So I am parking it for now. I want a new goal and I need to complete or get rid of one so I picked this to give up on.

Have a totally different life by this time next year (read all 10 entries…)
I want more income and a different house (or fix mine up).

Perhaps I’m getting caught up in the material side of our culture but I want a larger income next year (significantly larger, not just a raise) and I want to fix my house up or move to a larger house. There are aspects of my house that I like – the floorplan, the location, and my neighborhood – but I would like a different style of house and I can’t change mine to be what I want without spending a ton of money. I have work to do on my house to get it ready to sell if I decide to go that route. I may as well fix it the way I want with the idea that I may sell soon.

I went house hunting, not because I am moving but to see what was out there and how much people are asking for the homes. After spending several hours looking at very expensive houses, I appreciate my house a lot more!

Worked in the yard and let the cats run around. They love being ooutdoors but need supervision so I used the time to cut some bushes.

I wasn’t feeling well so I stayed home. I did get a chance to go through a bunch of papers and get rid of some of them. That was nice.

I never left the house.

It’s difficult to compliment people when you aren’t around them. Since I stayed in all day long, I didn’t compliment anyone in person, nor did I compliment anyone in any of the emails I sent. Hmm, so I guess I didn’t reach my goal. But do I need to change my goal so that I compliment people in person? I’ll think about that…

Hmm, is thanking someone the same as complimenting them?

Well if you say “Thank you for making a great malt” is that the same as complimenting them on their malt making skills? I’ll say “yes” so I can count it as a compliment. I guess the important aspect of this goal is to focus on the positive things that happen.

To make my goals habits

I need to focus on them and practice them. So I will make a note to myself to compliment one person everyday or I will contribute $100 to charity. It’s not that giving money to a charity is bad – it isn’t – it’s just that money is tight and therefore this is something that will motivate me to focus on my goal.

Got my hair cut!

This may not seem like a big deal to most people but it’s a hassle to go get my hair cut. Anyway, I got my haircut yesterday and it looks good.
