Thankful this week 3 months ago

Today I am thankful for:

This past week off with my husband – we both needed a break from work and school

That the co I work for has extended the contract on our two contract employees, without whom, all departmental work would fall on me

Visiting McKinney Falls state park, it is a beautiful park, and I look forward to sharing it with the rest of my family and friends

Flax seed 3 months ago

I’ve started taking flax seed every day again. Did this a few years ago, can’t remember why I stopped, aside from sheer laziness, I suppose. There are so many reasons TO take it, they outweigh the pain in the arse factor. :o) I buy golden flax seed, straight from a farm in South Dakota, at www.heintzmanfarms.com. There is a lot of detailed scientific data on the health benefits of flax at www.whfoods.org, which is the World’s Healthiest Foods website. So far I’ve lowered my blood pressure, and have begun reducing my weight, as well, as flax is high in fiber and helps you feel full.

Keep rescuing stray cats (read all 4 entries…)
2 rescues! 3 months ago

We caught a second kitten in November, the sister of the one we caught in October. Very tiny little thing, scared out of her mind of everything and anything. Took a long time for her to come around even a little bit. My mom agreed to take both of them, as she had been wanting two kittens. Mom named the 2nd kitten Maggie. We had them here at our house from October/November of last year, through January 24, 2009. My Mom came & picked them up and took them to their new home. She had just moved into a 3br apartment, and they have a room all of their very own! They have since then, settled in, and are doing very well. She took them to be spade week before last, and they did wonderfully, aside from both of them getting away from the vet’s staff once. The little one, Maggie, my mom has been working with to try and get her used to being picked up. She now comes and sits on Mom’s lap, all of her own accord! Sunny is the feisty one, not afraid of much. I am so glad they are doing so well! They have exceeded my fondest wishes for them, and Mom loves them dearly.
