pay off my student loans
Emergency Loan for Nursing School

Since my financial aid came in at a much later time and I didn’t want my classes to be dropped, I went ahead and took out an emergency loan a month or two ago and just paid it upfront (in full amount) on the first day of school. I’m so glad I don’t have to worry about this loan anymore.

Things to know:
1. Emergency loans are available for each semester.
2. If you pay it before the deadline, no interest will be charged.
3. Always know when your payment deadlines are for your school (for tuition and fees). Otherwise, you can be dropped from your classes.

clean my closet
Invasion of Ants

I actually had no choice but to clean my closet by getting rid of all the piles of clothes and stuff on the floor because ants were crawling all over my stuff. I had to rewash a lot of clothes, throw away junk, and put together a pile of unused things I’ve been planning to donate. I’d say my closet is nice and better organized now…and stay ant-free!

Next on my list is treating the yard…

work at least 1 graveyard shift at the hospital
My first graveyard shift

By default, I’m a night owl. At my worst times, I’m such an insomniac that it makes me a bit dysfunctional and even annoyed with myself if it’s days on end. From this fact, I thought I’d try something new by working the graveyard shift at the hospital and just to see if I could do it.

I just got home this morning. It wasn’t too bad. Glad I had Arizona Tea and a logic puzzle book to keep me awake. Also, it helped that I took a nap before the shift started. I loaded up on fluids and good healthy snacks before and during the shift. I like the fact that it’s quiet and I can think out loud (maybe even do my schoolwork if I had any). Of course, all the patients were sleeping, so it made rounds a bit quicker so long as they were still breathing!

Other than that, I would recommend doing the graveyard shift every so once in a while unless if you’re doing this shift out of necessity, if you enjoy it so much, or if you really can’t break out of the insomniac cycle.

I’m going to start nursing school soon, so I know that I won’t be working this shift as often, but it’ll be a new and interesting experience working it again.

(2010 resolution completed!)
