How I did it: Lots of hard work and dedication... and amazing encouragement from my BF who was an awesome snowboarder to begin with,.. and an awesome teacher!! I had skiied before, but because everyone else i knew boarded i wanted to try it, and become proficient at it... it took me a week straight in august (Remember i lived in the snow from arch - october!) to finally get it.. then when i did it was magical! How I did it: This ties in with my other goal of moving overseas. Normally when your an aussie moving to nz you get the comment, why? its just like another state. But those people could not be any further from the truth!!! Where we moved to was Queenstown, and it is beautifully multicultural. I had had some problems over the previous few year which tore me apart... and made me feel like i had no place in the world... mainly death, divorce, etc etc... b… Read how I did it…
How I did it: Spontaneously!!! Sale airfares came up... and within a hr i had a 1 way ticket booked. Then i had 6 months to save.... we travelled for 2 weeks on arrival, organised our snowboarding passes in this time.. and i had arranged a transfer through my current employment with mcdonalds, who i was working for at the time in australia. So here i sit 5 weeks away from the big move, I can’t believe im finally doing it! its been a dream of mine for over 7 years and now its down to this… 5 weeks! I dunno if im crazy, I have no house no job no car arrrgh but im excited! I am soo excited! Its finally something I am doing for ME.. noone else and thats what makes it so good. It’s because I have the world at my fingertips, and hello world here I come. Who’s done this before? I have approx 24,000AUD to take with me and i’m hoping its enough for my bf and i. I’m moving to queenstown… the most beautiful place in the world that ive been to so far :) And then i go to canada in november! so really its like a working holiday but since im australian i dont need to call it that because of the recprical agreement we have with nz. omg, im rambling:D any hints or tips, please send them my way!
