So I just joined the “compact” – it is a movement in which you don’t consume unnecessary new things for 12 months, and instead try to reinvent and recycle in creative ways pre-loved belongings. After New York City, I’ve spent too much, and for both this reason and for the sake of conservation, I want to try and makeover my way of looking at shopping and material life in general…

AAAaargh! I’m no good at talking to people in general – I’m a mumbler, I trail off, I don’t pronunciate and I say sorry or apologize way too much. I’ve been called out on this way too much, and I’d like to just say its a bad habit I can quit. But I don’t think its that easy….some people are just shy naturally, and I think I’m one of them. I just want to learn to fake it for a big presentation NEXT WEEK in which I will be talking about research I’ve conducted for the past eight weeks.
Nerve racking, even if I know my info cold, I have this way of forgetting everything whenever I’m in front of important people I look up to: my boss will be there, maybe my advisor, my friends and family all looking on with a crew of strangers I’ve never met that funded this whole thing. Stressed? I think so.
HELP!! Any virtual support I can get is welcome:)
I feel like the more and more education I get, the less and less I am able to catch up on reading outside of my area of expertise. Very frustrating, must change
