How I did it: I accepted that this would be incredibly hard and stopped getting mad at myself for little slips here and there. I focused on taking baby steps, asking, "what can i do this day, this moment, to beat anorexia?" I let myself lean on people for the first time, accepting that this was a battle I needed support for. And finally, i never, ever, ever gave up--even when the road was dark and seemed to go on forever. Read how I did it…
i checked this goal off my list about a year ago…and recently decided that it should be back on there. it’s hard sometimes because when i feel like i’ve let go of one part of my past, it’s almost like soon after i’ll realize that there’s another aspect of my past i’m hanging onto. so i think this goal means more than letting go—it also means being present in the here and now. because being present is almost all we can ever ask for or hope for.
