become a comfortable size 14 and maintain that weight (read all 2 entries…)
update from university 3 years ago

so i’m pretty much a size 16 now. i fit in my skinny jeans, the cutest pair of grey drainpipes, so i’m feeling very pleased with myself and it has spurred me to continue on. all the walking i’ve been doing since i got here has helped a lot. and i’ve made the following alterations to my diet now that i’m in control of my own food shopping and cooking:
-only buying wholemeal pasta, rice, and bread. limiting my intake of all of these foods.
-making my portion sizes smaller so that they are more like the correct portion sizes that you eat
-buying mostly fresh foods so that it requires preparation, which makes me think twice about snacking.
-the only snack foods i have bought are fruit and nuts, which i keep in my room in a fruitbowl, so that if i get hungry i’m more likely to reach for that than go in search of unhealthy options.

i’m feeling really good about how healthy i’ve been since i got here and am hoping to keep up the good work.

Drink eight glasses of water each day
i've been aiming to do this for a while 3 years ago

i figure i can’t cut out diet coke completely from my day (as i need my caffeine and i’m addicted to the taste) but i’m definitely going to try 8 glasses of water a day as well because i think it will make my skin clearer, make me stop retaining water, and generally make me feel better. i figure university and being a penniless student will give me the motivation to drink more ‘council pop’ as i will want to spend my money on stuff other than feeding my caffeine habit. so, here’s hoping!

learn to drive
Untitled 3 years ago

so, i’ve been old enough to start driving for months now. i just have procrastinated about it ridiculously.
i have an ioncentive now in that i’m going off to university in portsmouth which is pretty far away, and want to be able to drive back home to see my friends and family (and my boyfriend, obviously), so that’s my incentive for learning. one of the first things i intend to do when i get there is to send off for my provisional, and then include driving lessons in my budget. because i’m in halls, i can’t have a car with me for the first year, as there’s no parking for my building, so that will give me adequate time to sort out money for a car. i’ve thought this through quite a lot, and i think i have a reasonable timescale.
