It’s weird to feel empathy for, yet revile, a person you have never met, right? That’s how I feel about John Ziegler, the subject of the essay-report that stuck with me the most. That, and that David Foster Wallace should not have killed himself, but should have kept writing for at least 60 years, are what I take with me now that I’ve set down this book.
