I’m happy to announce the launch of http://madame.lefigaro.fr a major french fashion magazine, all in Rails.
To give you an idea of the scope of this project :
- a 3 month timeframe (including backend),
- 4 Rails developers,
- over 1700 SVN revisions,
- MVC : 180 models, 300 views, 110 controllers
- AutoAdmin, our own “scaffolding on steroïds” module,
- pervasive usage of Unobstrusive JS, and our own twist on the same idea : Unobstrusive CSS,
- SweepObserve, a nifty caching module that goes further than the standard Rails one, selectively invalidating cached content when it’s updated,
- a very 2.0-ish backend interface, used daily by a dozen of editors.
I learned a lot, and loved working with the other 3 devs on the team: Manuel Aristaran, Michel Martens and Marca Tatem.
