I have absolutely no idea how to, and every piano-teaching book subtly implies I’m an idiot for beginning it without knowing how to read it. Here’s hoping I get around to it soon.

I’ve got a keyboard at home that’s been sitting idle for quite some time. Back in my first year of college, there was a dire need for someone to play chords for a music competition, and noone really knew anything, so I volunteered to learn for the particular songs being played and found I was rather good at it and enjoyed it, to boot. Thought I’d actually pick up learning it – no good lessons available near here, so I got a few books on self-learning; unfortunately, things haven’t really picked up and so I’m setting it as a goal here. My disc prolapse hasn’t helped recently, although now I have the time for it – maybe I can slowly start again.
I want to read:
- Crime and Punishment
- Notes from the Underground
- The Brothers Karamazov
- The Possessed / Demons
- The Idiot (read it too long back and didn’t really absorb it)
I’ve picked up C&P right now.
