March's meal

Pasties!

NMU made it to the NCAA, so we celebrated with a good ole Yooper treat. Found a recipe from google and tweaked it a bit. Was surprised how amazing they turned out, especially for having to make the crust from scratch! Definitely a crowd pleaser.

Skinny Dipping!

My second year living in the Upper Peninsula, I actually went skinny dipping for the first time and it happened to be in Lake Superior. I went swimming numerous times in Superior, but never this late in the year, in water so cold and well…never without clothes. It was definitely an experience and I am glad I did it. However, I won’t ever do it again ;)

February's meal

I made:
- Steamed Cauliflower
- Tomato, Mozzarella and Basil Bruschetta
- Pasta with Pancetta, Onions and Mushrooms in a Garlic Tomato Sauce

All three things I have never made before. I am pretty new to the concept of cooking with veggies and the steaming process. I also love me some bruschetta, but never took the time to see how it is made and finally, I never used pancetta before. All turned out super delicious.
