So I have compelted my first volunteer project. It was simple but I really enjoyed continuing my work with the Birmingham Bloomfield Symphony Orchestra. I helped keep all of the young musicians on schedule, ease parent concerns and nerves, and helped get judges dinner. It was a fun two evenings and a great start to achieving my goal.

How I did it: I sat down and looked at my gift list several months ago. Time is key. I decided what skills I had that would be useful and what projects I would enjoy doing. No one in my family has ever even thought about graduate school, most of them didn’t even go to college. I want to pick a masters program that will allow me to be a college professor since I love the academic life but the hard part is choosing the courses I want to take. There is this great program in New York but I just don’t know if I want to live in New York for 2 years. I’ve also contemplated religious or philosophical studies, or humanities. Now I just have to make up my mind, the hardest decision ever.
