The fast food industry is an ugly industry that does ugly things to our bodies, our communities, our government. I cannot continue to support it.

How I did it: I just gave it up cold turkey. I didn't have the terrible transitioning problems that I know others have experienced (perhaps because my hair is so curly), so I can't really speak to that.I use a cheap, silicone-free conditioner to get rid of any sebum build-up I might experience. I just take a big glob of it and scrub it into my scalp, making sure to use the pads of my fingers, not my fingernails. When I started, I had to do this ever… Read how I did it…
How I did it: One of my summer goals was to lower my weight through exercise and dieting. The dieting part hasn't been going so well; however, I have been exercising every day. I started a new running program this summer called the C25K program, which put me on the treadmill for 30 min. three times a week. Shortly after I started that program I started running every day for 30-45 minutes. My scale shows that I haven't lost any weight this entire summer… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I drove down to the Indian grocery with my friend and picked up henna at $1.50/100 gm. This is WAY cheaper than some online stores, so try and find it at home or maybe on ebay if you can. At home, I mixed the henna with lemon juice until I had a mixture the consistency of thick yogurt. I kept it in a tupperware container with the lid covered overnight in order to allow the dye to release. The next morning, I piled it onto my head. There p… Read how I did it…

Started C25K again today. Decided to try starting at week five of the plan, since there’s no way my endurance could be what it used to be after weeks of not running. Week five was still a bit too much…I made it through the first two five-minute intervals (and was damn near finished with the third one) before I just had to stop. It was too hard.
I’m going back to the gym later this week and beginning at week four. I’m sure that that will make for an easier transition back into the plan.
I put up some pretty sweet posters this past weekend. I still have one wall that is entirely blank, though…
