How I did it: I researched different sponsorship programs and decided to go with World Vision. Then I searched their site for a child that I could feel a connection with. We searched our wedding date and found a little girl born exactly 3 years before we got married. It was like fate and we couldn't turn away from her. SO HAPPY
How I did it: As a teacher, I started a campaign called, "DO Something...Get a New 'DO!" and spread the word at school, hoping to get maybe 10 kids to donate their hair with me. The kids started signing up and before I knew it, it got a life of its own! I called some professional stylists to volunteer to give us new "DOs." We had 16 stylists come to the school for the big cut on Oct 22, 2008. OVER 90 KIDS participated and we collected 4 lbs of hair for… Read how I did it…

Thanks to 43 things, I forced myself to make a list of things I wanted to start accomplishing. And I have officially succeeded at pursuing something off the list. YAY!

I met her in Amsterdam on Canada Day, 1998ish, just outside the Anne Frank house. She was so nice and let me take some pictures with her. She was shorter than I expected but she was extremely gracious and friendly. I was particularly polite (good Canadian ambassador) and so I think that helped.
