reach a steady housework equilibrium with my partner
Definition 22 months ago

This means:

- Coming to common understanding (compromising) regarding various benchmarks/expectations of how clean, how organized (and how often) various domains of the house must be rendered.

- Dividing fairly equally. This must not be exactly 50-50 for each task, but there should be no task that is exclusively or nearly exclusively performed by one of us.

- Maintaining a regular schedule and having the discipline to stick to it, so we won’t need to remind each other when something needs attention.

We can totally do this! We’re not that far off to start with, really. I just want it to be even better.

drop the celebrity news reading habit
Not 100% but nearly there. 22 months ago

I stopped reading that tripe! I still don’t know what got into me last year; I never gave a shit about any celebri-trash before. Perhaps I was feeling so out of the pop culture loop that I overdid it in an attempt to catch up on the years of obliviousness.

In any case, it’s been months since I read any of that shit, BUT
but I have been watching episodes of the What The Buck Show on YouTube occasionally. The jury is still out on whether I have then truly completed this goal or not. Maybe I need to drop Buck as well. Oh well.

keep my teeth healthy
I want to have all of my teeth for the rest of my life 22 months ago

I also don’t want to spend a fortune keeping them healthy. Only with financial help from my mother was I able to afford the fillings my teeth needed at the end of my bachelor’s degree. Several years of not flossing and sipping juice or other sweet things could only be amended by an expensive series of trips to the dentist. I’m starting my masters soon and am pledging to come out of it with a clean bill of dental health.

I plan to re-instate good habits in baby steps:
1. Till the end of March, floss twice a week minimum
2. April – May, floss 4 x / week minimum
3. May… Once a day flossing. No excuses.

Also, I will be more aware of when I eat of drink something sugary. Bread might be a problem here in Germany, as well as chocolate. I will brush my teeth not just mornings and evenings but whenever I notice sugars have been sitting in my mouth, feeding acid-producing bacteria.
