I wrote a same heading for another topic “Know what the hell I want to do for the rest of my life.” Try everything and listen to yourself so you’ll know what you want to do and not want to do. I keep a journal to figure myself out – esp that nagging feeling which means that something is not right in my life. I got into acting/filmmaking. It’s really good for people who get bored easily (like me). It’s actually really fun to do even if you don’t want to do it as a career because as an actor – you’re forced to know yourself and incorporate that into the characters. When I meet people now, instead of asking them what they do, I ask them what their passion is. That is how you can really get to know a person.

I was floundering around for about 2 years aimlessly just falling into different things until I finally settled in on what I want to do: filmmaker/actor. However, now looking back I would recommend taking a year out to go intern (don’t get a job unless you really need the money – if you’re living at home, even better) at every different type of work place you can. Travel and crash on a friend’s couch if you need to. Then really listen to YOURSELF – you’ll know what you like and don’t like. I hated being in an office, but I did that for some time – I didn’t realize that nagging feeling breathing down my neck was me not knowing myself. Bottom line: Know yourself.
I read a book called “Clutter’s Last Stand” which totally changed my perspective on material items and learning to get more out of the free stuff in life. Also, I’m trying to set up passive income so I can do what I want instead of being a slave to the grind.
