Unfortunately, everyone in Lisbon speaks English, including waiters, bus drivers and taxi drivers. It wasn’t that way in Brazil, there only the wealthy speak English.
I had a few uses for Portuguese though, translating mostly. I still think it’s a beautiful language, and I’m going to continue using it and listening to it every chance I get.

How I did it: I was forced to learn to drive a manual, because I learned to drive abroad and most cars were manual transmission. I was ok with that though, because it's much more awesome to drive a manual. I won't even buy an automatic car now, because a manual is more fuel efficient, safer, and more fun to drive.I did not have the best learning experience, I learned from my parents. I recommend being patient and learning from an instructor or a … Read how I did it…
How I did it: I was open to a meeting a new person, friendly and giving to them. In return, I was able to know him and he was able to know me. You can't shut people out if you want to fall in love, you have to be open to possibility. You can see as soon as you meet someone if the possibility is there, and if it is, have some faith and let your true self come forth. You have to be friends before you can be in love, and the way to make friends is t… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I started by thinking of who I knew that might reply to my letter, and who I didn't see very often. I settled on a friend in Australia, and another in Germany.I got some printer paper and wrote about 2 pages to each friend about general life happenings, not too long or detailed or it would take forever to write. I folded the letter up, put it in an envelope and took it to the post office for a 93 cent stamp. Read how I did it…

My next step toward this goal is to go to MEPPS and get my physical. I’m going this Saturday, at the wonderful hour of 5am. Which reminds me, I’d better get up earlier the rest of this week to be somewhat prepared! Luckily I already go to sleep around 10-11pm so I’m not that far off. I need 8 hours though, so that means in bed by 9, haha. The sun doesn’t go down until 830! Well I can be tired for the day, that’s ok too. It’s just a physical.
I should be having my PRT around the 21st, I’m slighly concerned about that. I know I can max out pushups and curlups, but the run will be outdoors and I’m not a fast runner indoors. It’s very hot here now, rarely gets below 80 degrees, and very humid too. I will be doing all my runs from not until then outdoors so I can try and get used to it.
I really hate the South Beach diet right now. I’ve lost about 3lbs, which is nice, but not noticeable, and I’m so sick of raw vegetables and chicken breast already! Can I please just have a cookie =/
I wouldn’t be following this plan, but it’s pretty easy to follow and my boyfriend will do it. I had to have a way to motivate him, and keep him on track. I’m doing all the grocery shopping, cooking and cleaning after each meal to make sure he eats what he’s supposed to. It’s getting really tedious- after cooking 12 meals in the last 4 days, as well as snacks.
I’m going to stick with it, at least for two more days. I didn’t lose weight the last two days, so I need another weight loss to keep myself motivated. Otherwise the stress of having to stick with this will drive my crazy.
